Secondary Education ELA/Social Studies, B.A.
This major is intended to prepare middle and high school teachers (with state teacher licensing in English/language arts or Social Studies). The requirements provide breadth in the liberal arts and study in the professional discipline of education, with emphasis on the instructional needs of the adolescent and young adult. Specialization areas are: English/language arts (literature, 信息文本, 阅读, 写作, 说话, listening) and social studies (history, 政治科学, economics) Student teaching is done in one of grades 6 through 12 during the spring semester of the senior year.
